THE MUSIC ALWAYS PLAYS!!!

Please be sure and download the FREE Real Audio Player...so you can listen to these beautiful songs!!!

Yes, the music always DOES play at the Hawblitz home!! On this page, I'd like to share with you the joy player pianos, victrolas, reed organs, and orchestrians have played in our lives..

Over the years, we have collected hundreds upon hundreds of piano rolls. Our list of rolls is extremely extensive, and a great many of these wonderful songs of the past cannot be found anyplace else. Where I could do so, I have provided the author of the song and the date of  the copyright. However, in many cases, it was impossible for me to find the composer or information on the song as the leader (the part of the paper roll that includes the title and composer information at the beginning of the song) was missing after the many, many years of use. Piano rolls normally were enclosed in a box. However, in many cases, the boxes were also lost or the information given on the end of the box was missing. I accumulated a good portion of our rolls from auctions...where I bought them by the box, sight unseen. Also, old piano rolls were often included in the sale when we purchased a used piano for restoration purposes. If anyone should hear a song published on this site and KNOW the name of the composer or other details, I would certainly appreciate hearing from you.

I invite EVERYONE to listen to the great songs on my list. ALL OF THEM were played....or rather "pumped" by me on our FAMOUS Stultz & Co. Player Piano...... built in 1921. This player piano is NOT electrified, but must be pumped using the pedals..thereby filling the bellows with air and actuating the mechanism.

PHONOGRAPH NEEDLES AND SUPPLIES!!!!!!!! You can purchase everything you need for phonograph upkeep.....including needles, gears, governors, cranks, and bearing oil from: ANTIQUE PHONOGRAPH SUPPLY COMPANY ROUTE 23, BOX 123 DAVENPORT CENTER, N.Y. 137511-607-278-6218

So many of you have written and asked me for a supplier of phonograph needles!! Well...they have several types...and the prices are very good!! REMEMBER...NEVER USE a needle more than three or four times!! Longer use will ruin your valuable 78's!!!

This is just the beginning !! I'll be updating this page regularly with new and useful information!!!
